Northmont: a Community of Learners
Formed from the consolidation of Phillipsburg, Randolph, and Clayton districts Northmont Schools has been a community of learners. Our students have had a tradition of excellence in meeting the requirements identified on the State Report Card. Since 2002 an Excellent rating has been earned and for the past three years, we have been Excellent with Distinction! Our teachers and staff have collaboratively and progressively worked to enhance the craft of educating our children.
On an annual basis since 1995 the mission and vision of Northmont Schools has been reviewed and articulated by our Strategic Planning Team. Composed of twenty-five community members and staff, the Strategic Planning Team identifies strategies that guide the direction of the school district. With the help of additional fifteen member Action Planing Teams, each strategy for our success has been delineated and presented to the Board of Education for approval.
Northmont Schools offers a Leadership Academy for employees seeking additional information about the various skills and knowledge required in administering the district. The two year mentor program provides participants time to reflect and learn from current members of the Northmont administrative team.
Since 1991 through the Roll of Recognition program, Northmont Schools annually identifies and recognizes individuals who contribute time, effort, and commitment in exemplary ways directly to or in benefit of the Northmont School system and community. Three separate categories were formed to recognize an alumnus, community member, and educator. Since the inception, the Roll of Recognition has become known as the hallmark award of the Northmont Community. Each year an induction ceremony, in conjunction with the Northmont graduation ceremonies, is held to recognize each new class of recipients.
