Administrator

Northmont High School

Mr. George Caras

Mr. Caras is responsible for the day to day operations at Northmont High School. He is responsible for setting job responsibilities for the administrative team. He received his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration (Public Policy Analysis) from Miami of Ohio. He received a teaching certificate from Wright State in life Sciences and Political Sciences. His Masters degree and further graduate school certificates came from Ohio State and Wright State. Mr. Caras spent his first twelve years in Dayton as a high school teacher, coach, k -12 curriculum specialist, assistant principal at both elementary and high school and a principal. He spent the next decade as a Principal with Kettering City Schools before landing in Northmont in 2008. He has lived in Clayton for eleven years with his wife, Janie. They have two wonderful children Sydney Faye 8 and Gavin 6. In his spare time Mr. Caras likes to play golf badly and torment his wife and kids.

Mr. Robert Brazel

Mr. Brazel supervises and assists students whose last names begin with the letters A through D. Mr. Brazel earned a Bachelor's degree in conservation of resources from Kent State University and a Master's degree in school principalship from Wright State University. This is his 42nd year in education including seventeen years teaching science in Tipp City, Ohio, four years as principal of Newton High School in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, nine years as assistant principal at Sidney High School, and the last eleven as assistant principal at Northmont. Mr. Brazel is an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and photography. Other hobbies include woodworking and lapidary. When asked about his long career in education, Mr. Brazel says that the most rewarding part, for him, is seeing his students grow up, mature and lead successful and productive lives.

Mr. Gene Eyler

Mr. Eyler supervises and assists students whose last names begin with the letters E through K. He coordinates activities for all students and also oversees the Best of the Bolts program. He taught Business Education for 11 years and has been an administrator for 25 years, 20 at Northmont. He returns to the high school after previously serving 5 years as athletic administrator/assistant principal and 14 years as 8th grade principal, athletic administrator, and Washington trip coordinator for the middle school. He was selected as Ohio's Middle School Athletic Administrator of the Year for the 2007-2008 school year. Mr. Eyler is also a member of the district's Strategic Planning Steering Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from The Defiance College and his master's degree from Miami University. His outside interests include golf, carpentry and woodworking.

Mr. Greg Behrens

Mr. Behrens has general supervisory responsibilities as well as assisting students whose last names begin with the letters L through R. Mr. Behrens’ earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Ohio University and his Master Degree from the University of Dayton in Educational Administration. Mr. Behrens has spent his entire career at Northmont High School teaching Biology and Health Education courses. He served as the Head Athletic Trainer for twenty-five years and was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame before moving into an administrative position. In his free time he enjoys golfing, camping and Nascar races.

Miss Robin Spiller

Miss Spiller administers all high school athletic programs and is a CAA certified athletic administrator. Miss Spiller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Dayton. Her 32-year career in education has all been devoted to Northmont City Schools, first serving as a physical education teacher and then as assistant principal and athletic administrator. Miss Spiller is a devotee of the arts, enjoying attending plays and other cultural events. She is also an avid photographer.

Mr.Kaltenbach supervises and assists students whose last names begin with the letters S through Z. Other responsibilities include: master teachers schedule, the student handbook, the program of studies, Honor Society Program, examination schedules, and coordinator of the Oasis alternative school program. Mr. Kaltenbach earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Rio Grande and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Dayton.  In his free time he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife Erica and their three sons Luke, Wyatt, and Nathan.
