Northmont Middle School

Mr. John Stekli

John Stekli started as principal of Northmont Middle School in August, 2011.  He has the overall responsibility for all middle school programs.  As the principal, he primarily works with the staff, curriculum, Parents Interested in Education, the school schedule, budget, discipline appeals, and working with maintenance and custodians on the upkeep of the building.  In his career, Mr. Stekli taught math at the high school and middle school level as well as serving as a coach and athletic director.  He has been a high school assistant principal in both New Lebanon and Sidney, as well as the principal of Sidney Middle School.  His bachelor’s and master’s degrees are both from Wright State University.  Mr. Stekli is married to his wonderful wife D’Anna and has two sons, John and Josh.




Mr. Bill Mengerink

Bill Mengerink began as Assistant Principal of Northmont Middle School in August 2012. He also serves as the building's athletic director.  Before becoming Assistant Principal at Northmont Middle School he served twelve years as an Intervention Specialist in the same building.  Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from Wright State University and continued his education at the University of Dayton where he earned a master’s degree and principal’s license.  Bill is married to his wife Nikki and has three kids, Haley, Billy, and Sophie.


Mrs. Kathryn Grothaus

Mrs. Katie Grothaus began as Assistant Principal of Northmont Middle School in August 2012.  Before joining the T-BOLTS Katie spent three years as Assistant Principal at Milton-Union Schools, five years as an instructor at a STEM school through WPAFB and three years as a teacher for Greeneview Schools.  Katie earned her bachelor's from Wright State University then continued her education at The University of Dayton where she earned her master's and principal's license.   She enjoys spending time with her husband Brad and two sons, Kael and Lincoln.
