NORTHMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL
2009-10 Washington, D. C. Trip
November Updates

Registrations
Although the “Fall Deadline” of October 30, has passed, you may still register your child for our Washington, D. C. trip. The final deadline is not until January, however, we do encourage you to sign up as soon as you can. Keep in mind that if your child has been involved with fund raising activities, we cannot send their profit to World Strides until they are registered. Currently the enrollment is at 275. The more that go means the more free half trips we get from World Strides and the more teachers that can go to chaperone. You can still register for just the $99 fee, but you must be paid in full by February. If you need a new registration packet, we still have a few here in the office.

Financial Aid
In two weeks we will be handing out financial aid applications. Make sure you are watching for these to come home. These will only given to those students who are registered at that time. These will be due back the first Friday in December. Please make sure you follow all directions careful in completing the form and make sure it is returned to the TARGET teacher. The first grouping of aid will be given out just prior to the Winter Break. This aid will be the free half trips given to us by World Strides based on our enrollment.

Fund Raising Activities
Our parent group has now completed both sales. Don’t forget that the pick up for the candles will be Saturday, November 14, in the middle school cafeteria. PLEASE BE THERE TO GET YOUR ORDERS. This year the student profit money for both sales will be sent to World Strides in late January to be applied to each student’s account that was registered at that time. The two sales went very well with over 200 students actively participating. Currently there are no plans for any other activities.

A huge thanks goes to the parents on the committee that put together the sales, counted money and helped in any other way!!!! There is still a need for more volunteers to help hand out the candles and pizzas on the assigned dates. Please contact a committee member to see when you can help!

In Closing
As always, if you have ANY questions (no matter how trivial), DO NOT hesitate to call Mr. Eyler at the high school, 832-6000. The middle school website contains a great deal of the most up-to-date information. You can also check the World Strides web (www.worldstrides.com) site. We look forward to having your student be a part of a truly “once in a life time experience”!
