College Credit Plus - Deadline Extended

CCP deadline graphic

College Credit Plus is a program open to 7th through 12th grade students where students may earn college credit and high school credit simultaneously.  Students interested in participating in the College Credit Plus program during the 2020-2021 school year MUST submit an Intent to Participate form by the new state deadline of May 1.  Due to the COVID-19 health crisis and new legislation that Governor DeWine has signed, the intent to participate deadline has been extended to May 1.  The law requires that the school be given written notification of a student’s intent to participate in this program by this deadline.

Additionally, the law also requires that interested students and parents go through mandatory counseling to learn of the advantages and disadvantages of the program as well as potential risks.  Due to the closure of schools currently continuing through May 1 and possibly thereafter, there will be no face-to-face meetings required this school year.  Students and parents interested in College Credit Plus are required to read the full disclosure of both the advantages and disadvantages of the program including potential risks found on Pages 1-6 of the link below.

Interested students and parents must submit the Intent to Participate and the Counseling Verification form found below by May 1 (Page 7 of the link below).  Both the student's signature and parent's signature on this form indicate that the student is interested in College Credit Plus for the 2020-2021 school year AND the student and parent have read the full disclosure of the advantages, disadvantages, and potential risks of participation in the College Credit Plus program.  The form (Page 7 of the link below) can be submitted by emailing a scanned, signed copy to bkessler@northmontschools.net  no later than Friday, May 1.

Please also consider signing up for Remind notifications (information also found on Page 8 of the link below) to receive important information and reminders concerning the application process, deadlines, etc.

***Students and parents who previously submitted an Intent to Participate form but did not attend the meeting offered in January, please read this full packet, sign on Page 7, and submit this form by May 1.

***Current College Credit Plus students/parents during the 2019-2020 school year - you will receive an email with further guidance on how to continue in College Credit Plus during the 2020-2021 school year.

Specific questions may be directed to your student's counselor.
