Northmont City Schools is proud to announce that the stadium turf replacement began in November 2020. The turf was in its 11th season of use. The average lifespan for field turf is 10 years, so Northmont's turf has exceeded the normal life expectancy. Northmont has partnered with the Motz group once again to complete the project. The project has being funded without using any money from the district’s general operating funds. The money for the project came from Premier Health sponsorships, and donations from the Thunderback Club, Soccer Parents Association and the Northmont Band Boosters, as well as funds raised through facility rentals.
The Northmont Athletic Department has been spearheading a fundraiser to help raise additional funds for the turf project.
- First – We are looking for sponsors at 3 different levels – Platinum Donors $5,000, Gold Donors $1,000 and Silver Donors $100. Donors will be recognized by having their names on plaques at the entrance to the stadium.
- Second – We will develop a grid of the field and are asking people to sponsor a square for $50. The Endzone will be divided into 5 sections (one for each letter – BOLTS) and those will be sold for $100 per square. The center circle and logo will be sold for $500.
The project should be completed in time for the spring 2021 lacrosse season. After the coronavirus canceled the 2020 spring sports season, 2021 will now be the inaugural season for lacrosse at Northmont High School.
There will be two options to get involved. First, to donate online, click the link below and choose which level donation you would like. The second option is to either mail a check or stop by the Northmont Athletic Office to donate in person. Please note in the memo of your check “Turf Donation.”
